Values

1.  The Edgemont Bible Church (EBC) is a stewardship of the Lord Jesus Christ and He is its sole Head.

2.  Since the Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, we are under His authority and are not free to set visions, purposes, philosophies, or even methods not ordained by Him.  His commission is the vision of EBC.

3.  The Bible is the sole source of Truth for the church.  It is therefore our God-ordained duty and privilege to study it diligently that we may know what are His commands and purposes for our existence.  It is to be used for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness in order to prepare and equip the man of God for good works.

4.  We, as a church and even more so as leaders, will one day give an accounting to God for our handling of this stewardship.

5.  The family is God's ordained vessel for the training and guidance of children.

6.  Parents and, in particular, fathers are held responsible to God for the daily up bringing of the children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord avoiding their provocation to wrath and discouragement.

7.  Love for the brethren is to be the mark of the Christian and the proof of our birthright as children of God.

8.  Heart-level relationships are to be the operative method for our fellowship and our training.

9.  Heart-level relationships in the home with the children God has given to that family (and its extensions by permissions and design) is the God-ordained method of bringing children to maturity.

10.  Children are the responsibility of the home until such time as they leave that home to establish their own in order to perpetuate both the family and the faith.

11.  Making disciples is the command of Christ.  A disciple is a mature, reproducing, obedient follower of the Lord Jesus Christ capable of, equipped, and zealous for good works.  This includes godly character.

12.  The faith must be perpetuated lest a generation should arise that does not know the lord and bring God's discipline even judgment upon that generation and potentially those that follow until a return to the Lord can be accomplished.

13.  For the sake of the generations to follow we must teach diligently our faith and seek the mercy of God for our children in the saving of their souls.

14.  Whoever or whatever has the heart of a person has the person.

15.  Since the family is God's ordained vessel for perpetuating life and faith we value strengthening and building the family.

16.  We are to live in the Spirit; "flesh living" is the way of death.
